When I travel, having great sunblock and flawlessly smooth skin is of the utmost importance. Between beach days, I spend a few minutes using my Kenzzi IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset. With ease, avoiding razor burn (and icky ingrown hairs), I can get rid of hair anywhere on my body, including my face and Brazilian areas. The device is simple to use and produces visible results in just a few treatments. It is also gentle on your skin. The best part is, the handset has over ten years of flashes when used as recommended, so you will be able to be hair free for years to come. Kenzzi is an at-home IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Handset, which aims to remove unwanted hair, slow the aging process by diminishing wrinkles, and perfect the skin tone by treating blemishes.
What’s incredible about IPL is its versatile technology. After multiple treatments, it will increase collagen production in the skin and reduce hyperpigmentation. I haven’t yet used Kenzzi for those purposes, but it’s next on my beauty to-do list. I have a few dark spots from hormonal acne that could use IPL treatment, along with sunspots on my cheekbones. The Kenzzi comes with five different levels of intensity that you can set it on. I have medium to dark brown body hair and make sure to stay out of the sun (and wear sunblock), so the device can be useful. So far, I have treated my legs, underarms, and upper lip.

The pain level is minimal. It feels like a tiny prick, but very subtle. However, on more sensitive areas like my bikini and upper lip, I did feel more of a rubber-band-snap feeling as I increased the intensity levels. Because of this, I started at the lowest levels, and I am working my way up. Thankfully the uncomfortable sensation is very brief, so I don’t have to brace myself for long. Typically, I set the device to level four on my legs and rarely ever feel anything. Once a week, every week, I set aside time in the morning while I have my coffee to target my designated areas. What’s important to remember is that spray tans, self-tanner, or sunbeds will prevent the laser from doing its job, as it can create prolonged erythema (redness).
While the Kenzzi laser is safe for some skin types, fake tans will change your skin color, causing the laser to react differently to your skin. It has been two weeks since I began using it, and I have already seen significant improvement in my treated areas. I plan to move to level five once I reach three weeks to get the hair removal process moving along. The higher level of intensity appears to get quicker results. Since I am working my way up with the more sensitive areas, I may not see results as quickly with my bikini and underarms.
Tip: Please make sure to test your more sensitive areas before starting at the higher settings.
To prepare, I start by exfoliating my body, then shave, and finally, I dry off completely. After these steps, I am ready to use the device. I then pass along the handset three times in each area. The whole process takes me about 40-50 minutes. I am so glad I found this at-home laser hair removal device, and I highly recommend you try Kenzzi. It is an alternative to high-priced salon visits, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home, or in my case, a hotel on vacation. If you have any other questions on the device, leave them in the comments below.
