Alexander Wang offered a very abstract collection for Balenciaga Pre-Spring/Summer 2014. Between the layers upon layers of lengths, voluminous shoulders and peplum-like silhouettes, Wang definitely kept in line with La Maison Balenciaga. The collection maintained a strict palette of black and white with a few shades of grey. Wang’s three-dimensional jewelry on both neck and ankles, along with shiny fringes on hats and sandals added texture and depth to the collection. Midriff baring tops with petal shoulders and a black bandeau that got my heart racing pushed the envelope for Balenciaga this season.
